These records, seven typewritten pages, along with a copy of the newspaper article were given to me, (Murry L. Broach, Sr.) by my great uncle, Benjamin Irvin Broach in the early 1970s.

At the same time, Uncle Irvin also took me to the Broach Cemetery in Cleveland County, Arkansas and pointed out the burial location of his father, John Harrison Broach and his grandfather, William Berry Broach. (My great and great-great grandfathers respectively.)

These records were originally compiled during 1965 and 1966 by Raymond Charles Broach, from various sources, principally from the Genealogical Section of Washington Memorial Library, Macon, Georgia, from the Department of Archives, State of Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia and from the Genealogical Section of the city library, Memphis, Tennessee.

Raymond Charles Broach is a son of William Harris Broach, July 30, 1846 - December 1, 1920: grandson of James T. Broach, Great-grandson of Charles Broach, and great-great-grandson of Jones Broach

All Broaches whose ancestors are in this lineage will be eternally indebted to Raymond Charles Broach for the difficult, painstaking, but very thorough job he did in this research.

(All above born in Georgia except William A., and Amanda I., who were born in Arkansas.)

note from editor: Henry Broach (HBroach@aol.com) has convinced me that without a shadow of a doubt, the above record is another error of either the census taker... or the person who prepared the census index.
